SCOTT RATHBUN Scott Rathbun is a proud father and well known coach in the sport of wrestling throughout Cattaraugus County. Scott wrestled for the Franklinville High School wrestling team and has coached the Franklinville Youth team for several years. Coach Rathbun took the reigns of the struggling Franklinville Youth Wrestling team in 2004 and built it into a formidable club. He is recognized by the High School coaches as a contributor to their program because a number of his students have moved into the upper levels. Scott is also recognized by the many other youth wrestling coaches in the area. They credit him with making the youth wrestling program in Franklinville what it was the past several years. Scott is dedicated to using his knowledge and experience for training youth wrestlers in the very best traditions of this strenuous and competitive sport. While Scott wants each participant to have fun, he expects his students to reach high and try hard. He expects the support of parents who send their children to him and his expectations usually result in good wrestlers and very supportive parents. The kids always like Scott and do their best to meet his expectations. Coach Rathbun believes that coaching should be left to coaches and that parents are best served by taking responsibility for their children's equipment, behavior, and ensuring their children's dedication to training and tournament participation.
